Excavating Egypt: Great Discoveries from the Petrie Museum of Egyptian Archaeology

This major traveling exhibition tells the story of archaeologist William Matthew Flinders Petrie (1853-1942) and his exploration of ancient Egyptian civilization. Petrie, known as the Father of Egyptian Archaeology for his innovations and contributions to the field (and the inspiration for the film hero Indiana Jones) excavated in Egypt for well over half a century. Many of Petrie's most important, beautiful, and significant finds are housed in the Petrie Museum. EXCAVATING EGYPT features 221 of Petrie's most significant finds - many never before seen by the public.

  • Please note that these are not timed tickets - they can be used any day and any time the museum is opened.
  • All advance ticket orders will be processed Monday-Friday only.
  • Please allow 2-3 days to process ticket orders; online orders will receive a confirmation.
  • Online orders placed after 3:00 pm Friday, Mountain Daylight Time, will not be processed until the following Monday.
  • All ticket orders will be held at the Museum's will-call desk.
  • Tickets will not be refunded, exchanged or canceled, nor can lost tickets be replaced.
